I don't think anyone is going to beat an authenticator unless you're giving the information away or you can bypass the need for one entirely.

No one has beaten an authenticator, except for those people who were MASSIVELY infected.

I have no clue how they cracked mine (pre-authenticator). My account had been cancelled for about 2 years and I even switched laptops around the time it was hacked, plus I run malwarebytes once a week. They must have gotten lucky with a brute force or managed to get me with a keylogger in that one week window, and then probably used all of my email addresses (I have several) until they found the right one.

I don't blame Blizzard for this at all. There's nothing they can do about it except immediately ban hacked accounts as soon as they detect them, which they did with mine. The hacker only got a few days out of my account before they banned it. Restoring it was a hassle, but Blizzard did it in a two days and restored all of my items and gold. They did more than they were obligated to do.

Back in the day, if you even complained your account was hacked, Sony banned your account for life under the premise no one could hack an EQ account, therefore you were account sharing, therefore you broke the EULA, therefore BAN.

Define "now" lol.  I'm a fairly new player - I've finished Act III on Normal with one character - and I'm having a lot of fun with it.  But the tyranny of the toddler leaves me with only bits and pieces of time in which to play.

I'm pretty much done with Diablo III for now, I've played it enough to conclude that it's basically a single-player MMO with about 10 hours of unique game content, and one quest line. The freedom to do everything has stripped me of the will to do anything, because nothing feels special.

Co-op is fun, because playing with friends is always fun, but there is nothing particularly fantastic about the Diablo III experience compared to other games.

This is not the impression of the game I expected going in, I had very high hopes and was quite a defender of the game against internet whiners.

Not a terrible game by any stretch, and I enjoyed playing it. Just nothing special.

I'm still enjoying it.  I'm managing to weasel out the hours during naptime and after the lady-types go to bed.

I finished Normal difficulty with a Monk.  Now I'm doing three characters simultaneously (Demon Hunter, Witch Doctor, Barbarian), a couple of quests at a time each.  Haven't tried the Wizard yet.

It's possible though that my interest may wane after finishing Normal 5 times.  I'm not drawn to getting it done on Inferno or anything - even with D2, I've got hundreds (or more likely thousands) or hours on D2 over the last 12 years, and I never finished Hell mode.  I only ever finished Nightmare with one character.  I just keep making new ones and playing through Normal with different builds.

The fact that once you've leveled up one [insert class here] there's never any reason to start a new one ever means that the replay value may take a hit.  Not really an issue though.  My biggest complain is the leveling system.  First off the game is way easier, but the way experience is given out (or rather not given out) makes power leveling useless.  Not only do I have no choices in how to level up my character, but I have little choice regarding whether I'm going to go in under powered, or grind for a bit first.  The game is very streamlined to make it more non-diablo fan friendly, but the severe lack of choices makes me care less about my character, meaning I have less desire to keep playing with them.

The game wasn't overly interesting to me until nightmare. Nightmare felt like what normal ought to have been. That said, Hell is a lot of fun. I am levelling slowly with my WD atm. My son is playing a barb and dh and loves the game.

I found it mildly amusing that Hellrack (legendary xbow) dropped and was a +40% dps upgrade to a well geared Witch Doctor (TheIrreverend) while it was a downgrade for my Demon Hunter with his blue xbow.

I was particularly amused by a +11% dmg boost to a WD skill on a crossbow.

maybe DH is already so good with the bow that there's a smaller % of room for improvement?

Yeah, I mean there's lots of ways in which it makes sense within the Diablo 3 gameplay.  There's nothing inherently wrong with WD equipping an xbow, so why not a legendary with WD specific skill buffs?  It had no dex on it and the DPS of the weapon was 100 less than the blue I had (it was 800+ and my blue is 900+), so of course it would be a downgrade.  It makes sense once you accept the silly way in which D3 gear is generated.  But seeing a legendary huntard weapon go to a necromancer witch doctor was amusing to me.

Another thing that I noticed is that as we're progressing through Inferno my dps is steadily dropping.  I think I started out at about 30k and I'm down to less thant 20k.  What I gained instead is resistances, hp and armour.  I'm learning how to be a tank, while all I wanted to do was pew-pew.

Also, dampening is the best mob modifier ever.  Nether tentacles stack up as they enter the shield and then you see the mob die in a few seconds with a stead stream of crits flying.  Conversely damage reflect is my current worst enemy.  They've got to nerf that shit.
