The fact that a believer is happier than a skeptic is no more to the point than the fact that a drunken man is happier than a sober one.

-George Bernard Shaw  (according to brainyquote.com)

"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." ~Albert Einstein

"The most violent element in society is ignorance." ~ Emma Goldman

"The candle and glasses are useless, if the owl doesn't want to see." ~ a Dutch aphorism on skepticism and belief

"Give a skeptic an inch and he'll measure it..."

"We have enough youth, how about a fountain of smart?"

Homeopathy - keeps you hydrated

And if you're ever at a paranormal convention I'd say you could stick to the classic "I'm with stupid" t-shirt with arrows pointing everywhere.

This might be a bit too coarse, but here we go:

"Assumptions is the mother of all fuckups!"

Heard in a movie. Think it was one of the "Alien" ones, but I'm not sure.

edit: Umm, no. It's apparantly been used in "Under Siege 2" (google is my friend). But thinking about it, I distinctly remember John Travolta using this line in "Broken Arrow" and that is where I get it from. Ahh, the Irony, JT using what could only be defined as a skeptical slogan :)

im thinking of one of those credit card commercials (MC?) where they list some things and what they cost...then end with some family value and say "priceless."

so we'd have something like...

the offering tray on Sunday $25

pledge to support worldwide tele-evangelist  $200

the wisdom to know it's a scam...priceless

maybe someone here can come up with a better version of this (help)
 didn't do it.

When in doubt, observe and ask questions. When certain, observe at length and ask many more questions.

"Alien abductees lack abductive reasoning"

Now a little off-topic, but:

Quote
Heard in a movie. Think it was one of the "Alien" ones, but I'm not sure.

In "Lock, stock and two smoking barrels"  one person says "Assumption is the brother of all fuckups", is then corrected and replies "brother, mother or any other sucker.."
