@Parrish: you seem to have had a bad experience with Macintosh computers, but not everyone shares that experience. I have two. Neither have been as reliable as my most reliable Linux rigs, but both have been among the most reliable computers I've used. I find them generally easier to use and faster to work with--if you tale them for what they are and use them they way they were meant to be used, and not as though they were Windows knockoffs that are supposed to work the same way. Like Windows, there are many ways to do things and, like Windows, the methods chosen by novices are usually sub-optimal. Either way, MacOS works differently from Windows, and if you expect one to work just like the other, you're not going to be very efficient.

I use Macs for what they were created for, Graphic Design, and my two year old Laptop with almost half the specs runs better, quicker, and more stable then this brand new out of the box Mac with almost twice the specs.
The mouse doesn't work out of the box because the box doesn't come with one.
As far as cost I read those comparisons and that may be correct, but it sure didn't sound right, plus I know if you alll Dell they will come down on price for you. Also the Mac I am working on cost over 3.5 grand, I am sure I can buy a PC for half that.

Macs weren't created for graphic design. They were adopted en masse by graphic designers in the 1980s, and they platform has been popular with them ever since, but a Macintosh is a general-purpose computer, just like a Dell or Compaq. I understand that Adobe has not done well in updating its software to work with the Intel Macs and that, right now, the Windows versions of Photoshop and other Adobe products are generally better. Apple seems to be trying to introduce its own apps, just like it did with Safari and iWork when it became clear it couldn't count on Microsoft to provide good application support. But this is still an ongoing process.

I take it you have a Mac Pro (the tower)? Very few people buy those because they are expensive workstations with 1-2 quad core processors which are meant for computationally-intensive tasks. They really aren't a good fit for most users' needs. I know many Windows/Linux users think they need one because it is the only one they can get inside to upgrade, but upgrading hard drives, graphics cards and the like is neither as practical nor as necessary on a Mac as on a PC.
I don't know why it didn't come with a mouse, though. I thought they've shipped with mighty mice for at least a year or two, and with standard Apple mice (not especially useful, but pretty) previously.

I doubt Apple will never abandon Adobe and go it alone with design software. Adobe are just to well established. The reason why they created iWork and Safari is because of uncertainty about the future of the Microsoft-Apple agreement software development agreement.
Empty Soul:
I just read June's Consumer Reports. They breakdown computers (laptops and desktops) into various categories such as Budget, Workhorse, High End, All-in-one budget, and All-in-one workhorse. There results for #1 (for Desk tops):
Budget: Lenovo 3000 J2DO
Workhorse: HP Pavilion m9100t
High End: Dell XPS 420
All-in-one budget: Apple iMac 20-inch
All-in-one workhorse: HP TouchSmart IQ775
I have mainly used Macs since 1986 and have never had a major problem (no virsuses, no trips to a shop, not even the need for data recovery). I have owned 3 PCs in that time span and had a major problem (such as needing a new hard drive or monitor) with every one.
I use Mac for high work such a video analysis and high end number crunching (SPSS). Not trying to actually convince anyone that Macs are great by from my experience I am glad to have owned Macs and haven't encountered any of the problems others have mentioned.

This doesnt really supprise me.. I dont really see alot of 'all-in-ones' that compete with the Mac, or even try (for that matter, I dont even know alot of people that own all-in-ones unless you consider laptops, which are a different category).
I'm supprised that it was rated the highest tho as I've heard better things about the Sony all-in-ones (tho they are expensive)..
I'd be more curious on Laptop..
