Finally listened to the Jay Novella episode of Meet the Skeptics. I did not know their sister was a born-again Christian!

I listened to the other penns Sunday schools with just penn and goudeau. Much better than the star show.

I have it in my queue but haven't listened yet.  If enough people enjoy the podcast, and say so on these boards, that should be enough to bring Kwisatz Haderach out of hiding to tell us how much Penn sucks.

Been giving Adam Carolla's show a try the last couple weeks.  It's entertaining enough, but starting to wear thin.  I may not listen much longer.  I'm annoyed by his tendency to take a topic, and transform it into whatever straw man he feels like tearing down that day.  Sometimes I think he drifts into ranty-ville just because he thinks the audience expects him to.

Sometimes this one is a little too long, but there are usually 2-3 good howls of laughter inducing moments per show to keep me coming back.  What the hell happened to Amateur Scientist?
Well.  There it is.

^ I eventually got tired of Corollla's podcast due to his tendency to complain about old rich guy problems. It was funny in small doses, but that general attitude eventually seemed to saturate much of his show. I haven't listened in going on a year now so I may pick it back up and see where he's at now.

Started watching something called The Paranormal Report with a Fox News host named Clayton Morris. It doesn't surprise me that a FNC "reporter" shows such a glaring lack of critical thinking. It's pretty funny to watch them, week after week, have to report on how previous stories they ran turned out to be hoaxes or have mundane explanations. You would think they would eventually get the hint.

I never got beyond the annoying noise interruptions to find out what sort of content the show had.

Perhaps I'm too cynical, but it surprises me a little that they'd even be good about bothering with refractions.

"

I think my final straw was his hour long talk - not even a god damn rant, just a talk - about his trip to a FUCKING WINERY - talk about First World Problems - in which he never even bothered to address the massive amounts of bullshit that emanates from that industry. He even went into talking about wine-tasting but somehow - and this amazes me, given that it's Adam Carolla, a guy I remember being so, so good at calling people on their BS when he was the co-host of Loveline - managed to avoid calling the winery a bunch of massive douches. They were probably paying him in some way, but really that just makes it worse.

Mike Duncan has announced the end of "The History of Rome" podcast.

I suppose it had to happen eventually.

That sucks I really enjoy his take on that time. Did he say this in his podcast or was this from some other media. I am very far behind in the history of Rome.

He reported it in his podcast a couple episodes ago. He'll be ending the show shortly. I'm hoping very much that he does another podcast on some other historical topic.

But he said he won't. New kid and I imagine it's a huge relief to be done. I will miss him. He is the only podcast besides we are alive that I listen to on 1x. That's right I listen to Dan carlin on 2x. Talk about crack podcast.

It's time for someone to step up and do a post-Rome podcast. "The Dark Ages: Brighter Than You Think."

Done in the style of HoR, I would love that.  I know next to nothing about the "Dark" ages.
