In a bid to standardise our policy for changing forum display names, we have decided that name changes are now officially allowed. There are a few provisos:
- if you request a number of name changes that we consider excessive or abusive, we reserve the right to deny the change
- all name changes will be published in this thread, allowing other users to avoid confusion and discouraging 'clean slate' name changes. If you've been such a jerk that you feel a name change is the only way to start with a clean slate, you shouldn't have been a jerk in the first place.
Exceptions to the second clause are possible in exceptional circumstances. These requests will be judged on a case-by-case basis.
