Are you Steam powered?
« on: November 11, 2008, 01:45:20 AM »
For those of you who don't know what it is, Steam is program developed by Valve for the purposes of digitally distributing games online. Very simple, very effective.

For those of you who already have Steam, what games do you have? If there are enough people, it might be cool to put together a skeptic's group on Steam.

I play Team Fortress 2 mostly, but I'll be getting Left 4 Dead. I also played through Half Life 2 and the episodes. I also create my own levels and machinimas with the Hammer level editing software that Valve was so gracious to include for free  ;D

I love TF2 but have gotten sucked into fall out 3. But for team fortress 2, I play mostly 2fort servers. I also did COD4 on steam but for some reason had problems with the multiplayer. I like what steam does and have noticed with your account can re-download games on other machines. That is a great feature, but also just love being able to download games instead of taking my skinny lazy ass to the store.

I haven't played a Valve game in AGES. I used to be addicted to CS:S and TF2 but once my WoW subscription came back online I just couldn't find the time to fit all the FPS's in.

While Steam was created by Valve, they sell games from a lot of other publishers.

Also, Valve is preparing to release Steam Cloud, which will at first save your game preferences on their servers so that no matter what computer you are on, you'll still have your settings. Eventually, they will also store save files as well, so that you don't have to manually transfer them between computers.

Oh, and to actually answer the question, I have the Orange Box games, Half Life: Source, Audiosurf, Peggle Deluxe, Portal Prelude (it's a mod), and World of Goo, which I just bought last night.

I also plan to get Fallout 3 from Steam once I get paid this week.

2fort is the most boring map imaginable. :(

What, you don't like perfectly symmetrical violence? I suppose some people just cannot be pleased.  ;)

My favorite map is Badwater Basin, particularly because its so open and it has so many alternate routes. Great for spies.

And it turns out I forget to list my steam profile, so here it is.

A colleague of mine broke up with his girlfriend right before Wrath of the Lich King was released, anticipating that it would probably ruin their relationship anyway.

WOW... no pun intended.

Seriously that's really f'd up, and very insensitive.

I stopped playing PC games due to lack of good voice chat and the whole complexity of it all.  I'm aware some of it is easier but I'm addicted to console gaming now.

On the spectrum of immature whiny babies, which ranks higher, PC gaming or console gaming?
