I do random heroic dailies mostly.  A few around the AT if I'm bored (quick ones like 'kill the scourge guys over there' etc)

So how many of you are in guilds that have cleared ICC? 10 or 25?

I'm GL and RL of my guild and we've almost got Putricide down. I run a casual 10 man group.

I got kicked off my 25 man raiding group because I spend too much time with my g/f lol

You should have gotten her hooked on the game.  Then you could have spent time with her while[/] you were raiding.  Win-win all around.

I currently am the GM of a dead Guild with 4 bank tabs  lol  Death Before Dishonor is the name.  I may do something with it when Cata comes out.  I have not done any ICC.  The only real 25 raids I ever do are VOA after WG.

Yeah, raiding guilds can be rough like that.

Our group is suffering from a mix of apathy and frustration at the sluggish pace we are progressing.

I just want Cataclysm to get here already.

The key on Putri is the transitions and having a person comfy working the Abom, once you get to P3 and people stop dying to stupid shit, it just burn and avoid flasks.

Leaving an ooze up before tear gas on phase 3 is bad news.

Our biggest issue so far is getting the dps to efficiently get the slimes down so that we don't die and so that we get enough dps time on Putricide. It's a tough tough fight.

5600 is the new 5000. =P

Really though. There are too many people who spend too much time thinking about gear score. Skill is FAR more important. I've got an ele shammy that has started coming to our ICC runs, and he worked to meet the gear requirements that we put on ICC... well he can't break 4k dps. He does around 3.6. That's really low for someone who is ICC geared. REALLY low...

Gear isn't everything.

People keep saying skill is far more important then gear. This is just wrong. Both are important. Doesn't matter how much skill you have, you are not gonna do 10k dps in 4k gs.

Of course they're both important. That's why I have min gear reqs for my ICC runs. However... skill is MORE important. My ret pally has under 5k gear score, but I'm usually near the top of any dps charts that I am on.

I know a tank that has 4200 GS and he can hold threat with the best of them. I had a feral druid in my guild who had the lowest gear score (by a few hundred) in my guild and he was always at the top or tied for the top of the dps charts.

My point is that I can level a charact up to 80, drop a few hundred emblems into some ilevel 245 gear, and then fumble my way through a raid and not know what the hell I'm doing.

All things being equal... a highly skilled player will have a VERY large dps gap b/w him and a poorly skilled player.

I have 2 toons in 4pc t10 sets.  My main busts out 9k+ on some fights and my ele does pretty respectable.

10/12 in 25, 11/12 in 10 for my main.

That being said, I've never used the GS mod, much less know what my toons have.  I think it's a decent barometer for raid leaders, sure, but if you have any relevant achievements, 10 or 25, they're just as good as an arbitrary number that isn't always congruous with skill.  Most iLvl 200 trinks are still better than most of the 232 ones and stat-itemization>score.

I can't wait for Cata so I can hopefully stop having to use a spreadsheet to play a game... there's something about having to regem every time they tweak things around as a rogue that's driving me nuts...

oh, and subtlety backstab will supposedly become a viable raid build.. o_0

Yeah, my holy pally kept the Darkmoon card trinket up until Icecrown came out. That's an ilevel 200 trinket.

It's so hard to say any one thing is an end-all indicator of raid performance. Even achievements have their limitations as you can get carried through things and not know what the heck you're doing.
