Ever wondered about this Mafia thing in Forum Games?

We're looking for some new blood in our traditional forum mafia games. I'm sure there are plenty of people who have taken a peek, and decided the length and complexity of the games just seemed too daunting.

Well we've got a plan!

We want to run a very basic game with about 8-12 players (more if the demand arises) and we want them all to be people new to the game, that way you all start on the same level.

When I first joined the form there was no explanation for mafia and it did seem overwhelming. Since then I've never really spent much time in the game forum.  Also it seems to take on a WOW/crack like properties and am not sure I'm ready for that kind of commitment.  Is there such as thing as a casual mafia player? If so I'd like to try it out.

Not exactly. It does take some commitment. You kind of have to post in game at least once every couple days, and sometimes the thread can blow up and you'll have to read a few pages if you haven't payed attention for a day.

This game will be really basic, though, and it would be more casual once the learning curve is overcome.
