The evil conspiracy against Ray "Bananaman" Comfort
« on: Mar 06, 2009, 06:53:19 PM »
Aww, poor Ray-Ray, he just can't get a break from the evil atheists - they plotted and conspired to discredit his book and are driving down sales on Amazon:

   Reviews: http://www.amazon.com/Lead-Atheist-Evidence-Cant-Think/product-reviews/1935071068/ref=cm_cr_pr_recent?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=0&sortBy=bySubmissionDateDescending

   Tags: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/tags-on-product/1935071068/ref=tag_dpp_cust_edpp_sa

PZ's take on this: http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/2009/03/its_a_conspiracy_1.php

And Ray has challenged Richard Dawkins to a debate (link to RD's forum): http://richarddawkins.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=73020

Ray had a very short-lived stint on Examiner, originally as the 'Anti-Athiest Examiner' but his title got changed to 'Creationist Examiner', then it got permanently pulled from the site. It's not missed.

Any predictions as to what will happen next??

I love how everyone gave the book either 5 starts or one... no in between.

Personally I would love to see something like "Gods apathy for Williams' family allowed family of four to die in car wreck"   ~ kat96

The reviews are only slightly less idiotic than youtube comments.

The stupid makes my brain hurt.

Of the first two five star reviews I read, one is clearly from an anti-Comfort satirizing a TB and the second starts "I'm giving this book five stars. No, not for content, accuracy, or persuasive value but for the pure comedy therein. I genuinely think people should read this book, if only to realize what an outright moron Ray Comfort is."
“Society attacks early, when the individual is helpless. It enslaves him almost before he has tasted freedom." BF Skinner

"Bananaman" is also the name of a comedy duo in Japan (Osamu Shitara and Yuuki Himura).  Some of their stuff is pretty funny.

The universe is the way it is regardless of your philosophy or religion, and science is a way to understand it as it is. If it doesn't line up with your philosophy or religion, it's time to learn anew.

I know Ray is rather stupid, but who knew he could be that stupid.

After the banana thing? This is nothing. Nothing. He'll never trump that.

What I really like is that even seriously religious folks have problems with Ray Comfort.

Many of the Christian websites I've taken a look at since first being exposed to the idiocy of "The Atheists Nightmare" take the position of "Shut up Ray, you aren't helping."

Here's my favorite, although they have other problems with Ray....apparently he's seen as a bit of a money grubber, as well as a big dummy.

Well.  There it is.
