Don Draper started narrating himself halfway through Mad Men season 4, so don't hold your breath.

I just hope he doesn't pull a Sopranos.

I guess you're referring to the end? I seem to be the only person who liked it.

The ending grew on me. It took me awhile to "get" it.

After 6 seasons, I felt the audience deserved to know what happened to Tony.

Never watched the Sopranos, but the showrunners have said that Walt will die so it seems like it will be pretty wrapped up.  Also, the fact they are letting that tidbit out makes me think that the rest of it is going nothing short of amazing.

What happened to Tony is, his life goes on--in constant tension.

The series started out with Tony visiting a shrink to find out why he keeps fainting. Is it his mother? His father? In the last scene of the last episode, we get the answer to this question. For every second of his life, Tony lives in dread, forever looking over his shoulder.

I have friends that rave about this show. I normally can't stand shows where the main characters are amoral douchebags. Examples being Sopranos, Sarah Silverman, Weeds or the movie Raging Bull. Can someone who distributes meth be likeable? Maybe I'll force myself to watch the first couple episodes.

It's not too much of a spoiler to explain the following from the show:
The overarching plot is about a very likable character with many positive traits but who is also flawed, who over the course of several seasons slowly morphs into the amoral douchebag.

The point being that the change is slow and steady, but for the most part you understand his motivations. It's not as though he's an amoral douchebag just cause, you get to see his descent. That may be more acceptable to you.

I doubt you'll like it then.

Incidentally, to everyone who's seen it, best pilot ever, right?

Normally takes me an episode or two to get into the swing of a series, but Breaking Bad just tore my face off and was utterly compelling from about five seconds in.

I definitely think that more than liking Walt, the show is about understanding him and following his journey along with him.

What's weird is that the pilot didn't grab me initially. I saw it a few years ago, and enjoyed it... but wasn't interested enough to keep watching.

Then I watched it again last fall, and immediately started watching 2-3 episodes per day after that until I was fully caught up. I'm totally engrossed now.

Loved the Pilot, then started watching episodes 2 at a time.  A friend of mine lent me DVDs of the most current season, and I literally watched all 13 episodes on 3 days.  Who needs friends and sunshine...?

Pilot hooked me quite well, which was good considering how relatively slow the rest of the first season was.  Second season opened with quite a ramp up in tension and it never really let up since.
