The Death Penalty

(1/7) > >>

Bill K:
Thoughts? Right or wrong?

Citizen Skeptic:
There was another poll thread on the subject. But I'm for banishment. You can always undo that. It's not because I think it's cruel or unusual though. If there was to be a death penalty, the standard would have to be much higher than beyond a reasonable doubt. It would have to be absolutely beyond a doubt and I'm not sure how you'd prove that.

Bastard Soap:
Well I think a bunch of the people that appear in prison shows have been ravaged to the point of detaching from humanity, and definitely appear unredeemable. My argument against death penalty is that the motherfucking politicians would get so wasted on such a power, it would never be aplied accordingly.

gwenwifar:
I'm not opposed to it, though I think the way in which it is applied could use some work.

hunter:
1) costs more to put someone to death than put them away for life
2) one innocent man potentially being executed is 1 too many for almost any of us to abide by, seeing as though how many have been exonerated from death row.. it's clear the system isn't 100%

strip out any moral or ethical argument and it still makes little sense
