Righteous Indignation Podcast
« on: Jun 09, 2009, 09:28:45 AM »
Hello ... not sure if I'm breaking any rules as I tend to read this forum rather than posting. Ooer!

I'm at episode two of Righteous Indignation podcast which is a weekly skeptical show, mainly looking at the paranormal and supernatural but occasionally venturing into general skepticism.

http://www.ripodcast.co.uk

We're dry English types, terribly shy but learning the ropes.

Episode two has an interview with the hilarious skepchick Iszi Lawrence from Sundays Supplement podcast.

Please give us a listen and offer any comments or opinions to info@ripodcast.co.uk. If you think it smells good please spread the word. I will lick between your toes!

Trystan ;-)

Our guest – Ian Ridpath

A professional broadcaster and writer on the subject of astronomy since the early 1970s, Ian Ridpath is the author of Collins Stars and Planets Guide. He is also the editor of Norton’s Star Atlas and the Oxford Dictionary of Astronomy.

Away from the telescope Ian is a skeptically minded investigator of UFO cases. In 1983 his Guardian article ‘A Flashlight in the Forest’ shattered the notion that a UFO had crashed in Rendlesham Forest, Suffolk, and had been followed by US Air Force personnel. In this interview Ian revisits the case and clears up the complexities and misconceptions that keep it a holy grail for UFO believers.

Definitely liking the podcast. If you like SGU you should check it out. Very nice that they have been able to get some people with opposing views on the show. Creates an actual debate instead of just preaching to the choir.

Thanks - we try to get the believers on as well although it's easier said than done. Most of them like to talk the talk but when it comes to putting their theories on the line they tend to run off crying.

I'm working through this now myself. Some great interviews and a boo pair of bonnet cracking chavs as hosts! I think that's UK speak for "nice, charming hosts". Yes?

They seem to be claiming now they "hit" on a "coronal mass ejection" on July 6 and a "smaller" one on July 7. CMEs might well be common. It's like saying "I bet someone will be killed in a car accident on July 7" and someone is killed in a car accident on July 6 and someone is injured on July 7. And then I claim an astounding hit. Because the mighty jellyfish told me so.
