The redirect link from the old forum also doesn't work. When I would enter the old address (skepchick.org/skepticsguide), it would redirect me to this link:

http://sguforums.com//home/skepchic/public_html/skepticsguide

And that gives me a 404 error. If I just type sguforums.com, though, I get the actual board. However, I'm not sure people who didn't know about the changeover before will necessarily think of that. So if the redirect could be fixed, that would probably be best. (Sorry if you already knew this! Just trying to help.)

http://skepchick.org/skepticsguide is a directory.  taking off the trailing / breaks the redirect which is located in /skepticsguide/.htaccess (ie. you should have been linking to http://skepchick.org/skepticsguide/*something*) anything bookmarked to /skepticsguide/*something* will correctly forward to sguforums.com/*something*

This is why that doesn't work.

I have emailed Jay to fix it.

Because skepticsguide is a directory, and because it is a seperated site, I did not redirect skepchick.org/skepticsguide because in the future, should a file called skepticsguide be uploaded that will be redirected to the forums upon request. 

It is proper, then, to only redirect what was inside /skepticsguide/ once, which is what I did.  If a link is broken it is because someone was calling the directory with no trailing slash, and that's improper.

Ok I put a pretty shitty fix into place.  Here's the deal, I can't on the skepchick side rewrite this in a way to gracefully handle the missing slash at the end.  So now I have a fix on the sguforums.com side.  Anyone with the erring URL will be redirected sguforums side back to the index page of the forum.

This preserves our proper forwards for old threads, etc. and keeps the folks with the old (incorrect) url happy with a working redirect.
