Everyone in the British Isles is going to get this week's WTN: Irish comedian and skeptic Dara Ó Briain.

(And it's pronounced "Trinnock", dammit -- short "i" sound! :))

(And his name is pronounced "Oh-bree-an", not "O'Brien")

Man, I got here as fast as I could after finishing the show, but I see several people recognized Dara O'Briain's distinctive voice and pointed it out before me.  He's been on QI several times.  Check it out.

Hey Guys - a quick 2 comments on the whole Birther thing...

The Birthers want Obama to release the "Long Form" of the birth certificate by making an official request...and I didn't hear you mention this...did you guys see that the forged Kenyan birth certificate was created using a blatant copy of an Australian Birth certificate http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/birthers/kenyacert.asp- right down to using almost the same names for officials and the exact same "record" number on the top...

L8R

Update - now that I have a little more time...  you were right, Rebecca - the long form doesn't seem to be an option according to factcheck.org:

"The document is a "certification of birth," also known as a short-form birth certificate. The long form is drawn up by the hospital and includes additional information such as birth weight and parents' hometowns. The short form is printed by the state and draws from a database with fewer details. The Hawaii Department of Health's birth record request form does not give the option to request a photocopy of your long-form birth certificate, but their short form has enough information to be acceptable to the State Department. We tried to ask the Hawaii DOH why they only offer the short form, among other questions, but they have not given a response."

In addition to being a strawman and a false premise, isn't the homeopathic apologetic  mentioned in the episode also a tu quoque logical fallacy?

Really? No mention of the elephant in the room? We had almost 1000 responses to the sexism thing. I'm disappointed.

I think Steve was just humoring the girls last week. Hopefully this is the last we'll hear of this nonsense.

You missed it.  It was the part directly before the homeopathy subject.
In addition to being a strawman and a false premise, isn't the homeopathic apologetic  mentioned in the episode also a tu quoque logical fallacy?
Wouldn't the premise behind a tu quoque have to be correct in order for it to be a tu quoque? I would invoke the fallacy of the your making crap up does not instantly make for a tu quoque.
Edit:
I just realized.  It is a tu quoque but does not mean its a retarded one in that the guy made crap up.  I happen to think Dr. Novella made a good point.  I get the distinct feeling that a lot of people want to warp and twist science in a manner that will agree with their delusions.

Stop whinnying or else I am personally going to see to it that next weeks podcast is entirely devoted to this.  You think what was in this weeks podcast is annoying.  I mean it.  That mad doesn't mean I'm angry.  That mad means I'm crazy enough to do it.  Dr. Insano is on the job.   ;D
