keep looking for others, Nostradamus said his predictions would come true over 2200 years, not 1000

Nostradamus' writings are organized into 10 "centuries." There's your 1000 years.

If you're referring to my post mentioning the Rosetta Stone, SpecialeEdd, I wasn't offering that as an answer to the question.  Like I say in that post, it's just some interesting info I came across during my search.  I enjoy searching for the answers to the puzzles, and I always learn something new.  Yikes... I sound like the host of a PBS children's program or something.  Learning is fun!  Yay!  :D

Justinian

I will take a wild guess at the puzzle.
Could it be Byzantine emperor Justinian from 527 AD ?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Justinian#Legal_activities
" Justinian achieved lasting fame through his judicial reforms, and in particular through the compilation of a summa of all Roman law, something that had not previously been attempted"
His empire lasted on for around 1000 years...not sure about the lines of code still...
Anyway it was the first thing that came to my mind upon hearing the puzzle anyway   :D

No one who wins listens to the podcast so far as I can tell. I was up really early in the morning and saw that Dr.N had put up the puzzle, thats the only way I got it, at least Ithink I got it, we won't know till they tell us.

Not Hammurabi

I thought it might have been Hammurabi, one of the most famous of the ancient law-givers.  Only 268 laws, however.

Nope, although I have heard opsin like as in the pigment. Its really just made to look like Open, I used to play starcraft alot and that was my user name, when I took a slot in an online game it looked like the slot was still open. I've jsut kept it for the past half dozen years because I chose a password that I can remember.
