I read it... it was great!
It got me interested in the Bible in a way the actual Bible could not. My childhood love of myths and fairytales was reawakened. If you take away the naughty pictures, the book could be called a childrens' version of Genesis.
I have not read the actual Bible (i got bored about the time of the second creation), but from what i can tell, Christians will be surprised at the faithfulness of the retelling. It's not all sex, though there is a lot of it... but hey, that's the Bible! This is the content of these stories! Back then, they seemed to be preoccupied with blood-lines and birthrights and swapping handmaidens and "spreading their seed" like dust on the wind (

). It doesn't linger on the salacious parts, nor does it cut out the boring "begat" parts.
Crumb obviously has respect for the source material, and now, so do I.
