Electricity so I can go online and see reports of zombie sightings, much more to worry about that way.

You mean the zombie vaccine? Hasn't been invented yet.

No I was thinking about other medicines like penicillin or anything else a person might currently be on. For example I take tenormin for heart arrhythmias. With out my meds, and the zombies shuffling around, my heart would be going crazy. So I might have an even lower survival quotient.

Well let's see...

Weapons are actually pretty easy to attain.  Then after you have the weapon, the transportation and shelter will be easily secured.

Good point.  A few weeks without my daily syntho-thyroid pill and I'd be moving even slower than I do now.  How fast do zombies run?

That sucks. You're zombie bait, for sure. Stockpile it now while you have the chance.

Transportation. A vehicles can also serve as shelter, as well as a means to get various other things like weapons and food.

And I say water and electricity go together, since naturally running water can used both for personal use and generating electricity.

I checked transportation.  Absolutely.

You can manage without water or food for a day or so.  Get a vehicle then GTFO of dodge.  I'm in rural PA, so Emily and I would know places where the local populace is next to zero, minimizing the likelihood of encountering errant zombies.  The ideal situation is to find a survivor's compound via radio transmission.

I agree that the vehicle can act as a shelter, as scary as that would be at night.  A decent locked vehicle should keep out a few zombies long enough to start the car and peel away.

Frankly, weaponry would be a last resort as you'd want to be where the zombies are not.  If you're on the DL, you'd rather not attract attention to yourself.

If I had a second priority... night vision goggles and loads of batteries (perhaps rechargeable via vehicle).  Food and water (bottled) you can probably get by dashing into any damn rural gas station.

Yeah, I'm totally wit Hubbub on this one.

Transportation = Weapon
Transportation = Easy Access to Food
Transportation = Easy Access to Water
Transportation = Easy Access to personal, man portable weapons you can carry with you
Transportation = Electricity
Transportation = Quick Egress/Ingress to Areas of Interest
Transportation = Access to Easy further upgrade of better transportation (Get on a bike, drive around find a Car/Get in a car, drive around, find a pickup/get in a pickup, drive around find a Semi)

Let me stress the first one again TRANSPORATION = WEAPON. I love how in these Zombie movies the characters are so obsessed with finding a firearm. Screw that. A far more destructive weapon is a Semi truck (unhitched from a load) with meat sauce all over the grill doing donuts in a Mall Parking lot. Tons of Zombies will be attracted to the scene whereupon you start running them down by the dozen. After about 30 minutes of smushy-time, you head back to your safe area and call it a day. You'll have ended up killing many times the number of zombies that you would have been able to kill with a firearm at a greatly reduced risk to yourself. Vehicles are the way to go.

Holy crap, I hadn't even considered this angle. Just because they're zombies doesn't mean they can see in the dark! Perfect time to move would be at night.

Spoken like someone who has watched a lot of movies, but never actually hit something with a car. Hitting person-sized things at high speed does a lot of damage to a vehicle. Certain fortified trucks and things might fare better, but that will require modifications....which means...shift of priorities. Bottom line, if the first transportation you find is a light pickup, do NOT try smashing it into zombies on the roadway.

As to the OP:

-Priority 1 = escape
-Priority 2 = weapon for unexpected close encounter
-Priority 3 = safe shelter (sleep is mucho important)
-Priority 4 = food/water
-Priority 5 = transport (preferably secure...to double as pri. 3)
-Priority 6 = begin process of slow upgrade to priorities 2-5 either through trade-ups or modification unless all becomes unsafe and then back to pri. 1
