And the web site's fallen over again!

I'm sorry but it looks like something horrible went wrong and now I'm all twisted up inside. Look at the error information below, I don't know what that stuff means either.

But rest assured an army of nerds is on it's way to figure out what went wrong and make it so it won't happen again.

Can we please have an mp3 link with podcast/5x5 announcements?

(OK, found it at friendfeed.com: http://media.libsyn.com/media/sgu5x5/SGU5x52009-10-28.mp3)

Great 5x5 guys. And great timing with the release of Ricky Gervais' "The Invention of Lying".
I had no idea that the original concept came from the creator of "Wonder Woman".
I wish you guys could have touched on FMRI's being used for lie detection also.
I understand though, 5 minutes goes by quick, and the title was polygraphs, not lie detectors.
Great show guys. Thanks for a continuing ray of light in a dark world.

Small scientific correction, Steve.  Polygraphs do not measure respiration.  Respiration is a chemical process that occurs within cells.  Polygraphs measure breathing.  There is a huge difference.

This podcast is my second favorite . . . right behind the SGU!

yea, that was quite significant to me, I'd never even thought of polygraph in terms of 'poly'-'graph', I always just envisioned it as just a sorta earthquake-detector-hooked-up-to-a-person.

That's cellular respiration. Physiological respiration includes all of the stages by which oxygen gets to the cells and CO2 gets back out, including breathing.

Thanks, Trinoc.  I didn't make my message very clear.  "Inhaling and exhaling" is not the same as cellular respiration, that is clear.  Physiological respiration (according to your link) is a 3-step process, one of which involves inhaling and exhaling.  Either way, inhaling and exhaling is not the same thing as physiological respiration either.

Thank you for helping to make my podcast episode on this topic more clear.  I went back and edited that episode as a result.  This part of the podcast was a very small part of the whole, so it was easy to edit.

Trolling?

Whenever someone on the podcast mispronounces a word or makes a slight error, there are always people who come on make new accounts and just can't wait to correct the people.  Get over it. It's not a big deal.
