Battlefield
------------------

Introduction
Below you find a map of 15x15. On that map are 8 colored spots. These are bases.

Each of the colors will be played by a separate player. Every player gets 20 points to divide over units between the strengths of 2 to 5.

The point of the game is to move your units, one step each round, and thereby protect your base from the others, while attempting to conquer everyone else.

The map is reasonably fair. I think it is possible to win from every position.

Examples
Example of troop division before the start
Example of the game at the end

Bases
    Every player gets one base.
A base is conquered when an enemy troops moves on it.
You can not put troops inside a base.
If you have more than one base, you can cancel one of your bases.
If you conquer someone's base, you get all their troops, unless they have another base left. Then you get 25% (if they don't cancel it in time).
A base can not be moved.

Fighting
    If a
5 fights a 2, 3 points are left.
You can only fight by moving on the same position in the same turn. If one of the troops moves away, there will be no fight. Troops can pass each other by without fighting.
A troop that conquers a base takes the base and is automatically returned to its position from where it attacked the base.[/list]

Moving
Each troop can move one step in any direction, each turn.
You may not place troops inside a base.
    Bases can not move.
Troops may stand still as long as you wish.
Only the troops general (player of the color) can move a unit.

How it works

First Round:
1. Each of the eight players sends me a division of 20 points (max. 5, min. 2 strength) and places each troop within 2 steps from their base.
2. I will post the next map, with all the troops on them.

All Other Rounds
1. I post a new map.
2. Everyone sends me their new moves.
3. See 1.

NOTE
This game takes waaay less time than Mafia. You only need to send me a few moves in every day or two days or something.

I'll play, if there's teams, I'm on Sabbie's team. ;)  If not... ack.... I'll be blue.

There's no official teams, but you're allowed to make all the alliances you wish (both openly and secretly). Of course you can betray your allies just as easily.

This game looks like fun, but I think I'll just watch the first one, and maybe play the second.

Pretty much exactly how I feel about it.

It seems a little cumbersome and complicated, but given my profession (programmer) that shouldn't bother me. :)

Only 2 players and 2 potential ones? :( Not enough yet by far. I can decrease the amount of players of course, but still. The more the better (more alliances, more backstabbing, more strategy).

Trust me, the game is very very simple.

I'll take your word that it is truly fairly simple.

I'll play.

I changed my mind; I'll play. Apeiron, when do you want to kick things off (i.e., when do you need initial deployments by)?

I think we only got four people so far. I will wait a couple more days to see if we can reach eight. Weekends are slow.

The moment we got eight people, I will send everyone a PM to explain how you may divide your 20 points and how close to your base you may place them.

So no worries, you will receive a PM with all the details as soon as we are ready to start.

Remember that if you want, you can choose the color you wish to play :)

Mike already asked for Blue though, not sure if he meant Purple or Cyan by that.
