Mobile/touch friendy theme
« on: January 29, 2010, 11:54:26 PM »
I'd like to request a mobile and/or a touch friendly theme. I am sure there are some free ones out there. I probably spend 50% of my on-site time on my phone, and It would make the experience much better.

Also, a way to quick-switch themes (like via a dropdown at the bottom) would be nice if the above in implemented.

We're sort of on hold for new themes and enhancements until the final version of SMF 2.0 is released.  We're keeping track of member-requested features and enhancements, though, and a mobile-friendly theme is a really good one!

Another thing is, some phones that are capable of rendering HTML will still get the simple WAP layout if you go to the site.

What phone are you on? What are the issues when browsing on it for you? Will you buy me an ipad?
Wait, how'd that last one slip in? ;D

Moto Droid.
Hard to click on things accurately, have to zoom in really close, which causes problems with things jumping around.

I accidental locked many threads while I was mod of the month and checking on my iphone :-[   while I would be interested in a mobile theme, is it really possible? Are there other forums that are easy to navigate on a phone?

Have you tried clicking on the WAP2 link at the bottom of the page to render the  in mobile device mode?

wow, when was that added? I had never tried that. While I am use to the dark theme the WAP2 is much easier to use on the phone. Thanks :)

I did this as well. Lucky I didn't delete a thread by accident.

Whut? I'll have to try this one. Thanks.
