Topic: Rogues Gallery and Neurologica Down

The Rogues Gallery and NeuroLogica (basically, the entire NESS website) is currently down. We are aware of the problem so no need to send us an e-mail.

We have not been taken over nor have we failed to pay our bills.

What happened is that our traffic exceeded the limits of our host (HostPapa) and they responded by suspending the account. We have already communicated with them - but they are slow to respond over the weekend.

We will be dumping them as our host for the NESS site, as this is unacceptable service. 

It is a good problem to have - in that it was triggered by increased traffic. But we have simply outgrown this Host.

I tried to access the site over the weekend and got a message to the effect that you had not paid your service bill. I think it is in very poor taste and VERY unprofessional of your service provider to even have a message like that ready to go. Financial information should only be between the customer and the provider. I am glad you are dropping them like a hot potato.

It is expected for websites to go down after they get social bookmarked like this. You merely failed to exceed expectations.

Steve - Can you please post a link to the LA Times article that caused the server to get overloaded in the first place?  I'd like to read it.

Wouldn't it be funny if all the SGU fans went to the LA Times to read the article and IT crashed? (yeah, right)

Is neuralogica down again i have been unable to access it. i was to access it shortly after the changeover to a higher bandwidth but it seems down again.
