New Battery technology
« on: March 12, 2010, 05:45:00 PM »
Just came across this article.

Essentially, researchers at MIT have stumbled across a new way to store energy using carbon nanotubes.  I'm hopeful that this is something that will prove itself out and can be produced on a mass scale.  I'm sure it is years away from being ready for commercial use, but if this pans out, it could be a great source for energy for electric cars.

Is there anything at this point that carbon nanotubes can't do?

They can't research the applications of carbon nanotubes.

The more intelligent we are, the more sophisticated and elaborate our rationalizations – giving more confidence in our conclusions, but not necessarily deserved. - Dr N

Ah, the long search for The Magic Battery ............

Reminds me of Edison. He hired lots of Phds, but in the end, "stumbled across" most of his practical inventions by just trying everything .........
