My explanation is probably still back there somewhere but I'll repeat it for anyone new who doesn't want to read through one and a half thousand posts:

My user name is my name and birth year. My avatar is a picture of me ascending from a freedive with free, wild spotted dolphins that seem to love hanging out with people.

Well you can rock me to sleep tonight because of course an irrational fear is made better by telling me the son of a bitch is in my pants right now.

I need steel wool and bleach, stat!

There was an episode of Buffy where a fear demon was wreaking havoc. They find a picture of it and it is really scary. But finally at the end of the episode, the demon appears and it is about 4 inches tall, so Buffy steps on it. Only then do they notice the caption under the picture in the book: "Actual size."

I find that smaller is usually less scary, other things being equal.

Well I still got to get an avatar. But my username is thanks to a students six years ago, who actually thought he had to google how to call me in English. To this day a great teachable example how translation software can fool you.
Spanish: maestro = English: master (and of course: teacher)
Spanish: marco + English: frame (becaus that's how we translate proper names)

Am I the only one who finds that absolutely fucking terrifying?

Nope. I blocked his avatar.

Makes me think that tardigrade has a louche west-coast life style.

Well, I'm back, and now my avatar has changed. It's now taken from a larger drawing I commissioned (and then colored) of my Hand Binding Ceremony with my mate Tizona.

Louie was derived from my surname by some English friends, because they had difficulty pronouncing my first name (Matthijs). My avatar is what it is because it's f***ing hypnotically awesome.

A skeptical yoga instructor? That's cool. I've had a few instructors who didn't push any weird spirituality, and plenty more who have. I mostly tune it out, but it gets obnoxious.
