Three?

That means welcome. Maybe someone besides panda will be the drunk poster for a while.
This, coming from Mr. "I started a whole thread dedicated to my drunk summer vacation." :P

And in my defense, some of my more reasonable posts have come from being slightly in my cups. And as I never go back and reread the things I've written in my past, I can feel confident that my memories of the things I've said are completely and totally accurate and not biased or colored by my inebriated state.

Speaking of drunk summer, eighteen days of school.

Hey all, just joined the forums and all that. I've been listening for a while, though. In my offline life I'm some insignificant Norwegian biotechnology student. I'm interested in most subjects, but science and art my two main loves. There's not much else to say except hi. Hi.

Hi right back at you.

We do have a few Norwegian and Swedes on the board, so you can talk about snow and what type of rotting fish you like the best.  ;)

Hello there and welcome Mr. Compson. What kind of art? If you're a creator, pay a visit to the Members' Creations section and let us have a taste.

Thanks for the welcome  ;). I'm from Stavanger, but I moved up to Trondheim for university so that's where I spend most of the year now.

TalkingBook: I'm not a creator but I do play guitar and piano crudely and I've made unsuccessful attempts at writing. I don't have anything to share or I probably would. I'm into all kinds of art, but primarily music and literature.

Hi there, joining from San Francisco, land of cable car, dungeness crab, and Golden Gate Bridge. :)

Knew of SGU but didn't find the podcast until relatively recently.

Question for the Norwegians...does the name Trosvik have a Nordic meaning? I am about to marry a girl of Norwegian decent from Minnesota and I want to dazzle her and her family with my knowledge.

I'm not sure how dazzling the name is - it literally means "the bay in which small twigs and sticks gather"...

I decided to google it just to see what came up, and this is what I came up with: http://johnbjarnegrover.com/abc.htm

It gives TimeCube a run for its money for number of characters written about pure craziness. Here are the first few lines:

And here's the part with the name Trosvik in it:

He goes on to point out many times that he was literally raped by Hitler as an infant.  :o

Maybe you can impress your soon-to-be in-laws with this information?

I found the podcast a couple weeks back and it's great. I am glad to hear there are other sane people out there that let sceince and reason dictate their actions.

Good point. Sane as in don't believe in things unless there is scientific evidence to back them up.
