Hello all! My name is Bill. I've been listening to the podcast for about nine months now. I look forward to interacting with some like-minded individuals and improve my critical thinking skills.
Be careful--I hear Uma Thurman wants to kill you.

Hi all,
Middle-aged, MWM with young children. I have been a quasi-sceptic for most of my life.
I think I found out about Skepticality Podcast while doing a random search for science podcasts a couple of years ago. I listened to them for a few months and they mentioned SGU, so gave them a try and found it more to my taste.
Mostly I am interested in religious scepticism, but am also interested in pseudo-science and MMQ (medical and medicinal quackery).

I have done some exerimentation with skeptical writting on Facebook and toyed with the idea of doing a skeptic blog, but have a hard time keeping up with it.

Also try to attend a couple of local groups, but life keeps getting in the way. ;)

Hello, everyone. My name's Rob and I have a confession...

I used to work for the dark side.

Yep, I was the guy helping shill sugar pills and water diluted in water. (But the bottles were so pretty!)

I grew up as a the product of alternative-medicine-loving, skyclad-going, pagan, hippie parents. (You can just smell the patchouli, can't you?) So, it was no wonder I ended up working most of my 20s at a health food store selling magic water and carob by the pound.

Despite that fact that I consider myself fairly intelligent and scientifically minded on many subjects, it was an area I totally turned a blind eye to. (And if I did ask questions, they were waved away with the explanation that I didn't understand the workings of the human body & mind and that was the reason for any health issues I had.)

Then one day, I asked myself an important question...

"If homeopathy, vitamins, magic soap, and reiki are the cures for all the world's ills... why do I have such fantastic health insurance?"

I'm sure this isn't the area of the forum for me to go into my life story, but I look forward to chatting with you guys!

There is a lot less cash in the light, but we do get to feel morally superior. So we got that going for us. Welcome aristan!
