I apologized to beleth because he thought I had taken him for a fool, which having met him in person, I clearly know he is not. He didn't have to ask.

Cut him some slack, he's an old fart like me. :)

This is a great forum. Even the "trolls" are entertaining and inadvertently add to the debate. Take that you "trolls." :P

An additional variable would include the population of douchbags

Then it's a wonder we didn't have one sooner. The forum has gotten decidedly....high school, of late.

Guise.  GUISE GUISE GUISE.

Why call Beleth a nazi!? I've been calling him Big Brother for years... and since he didn't get all pissy about it, it's been established that it's OK to call him Big Brother.  It has the same effect, and you don't get banned!  Think smarter ^_^

Edit: For the record, the joke was funny.

Beleth, I got your back! At least when ILSers did this, we kinda had an almost real point to it. These newbs though... cmon guys, really? I mean, drama over changing names? Oh you rascally scamps!

How did you get from Bunsen parodying Niemöller to Bunsen calling the mods Nazis?

Yeah, I'm still working that one out myself.  Apparently not even literary references are allowed in Jack's world?  And, vague literary references that weren't directed at a mod, at that.
Who were "they"?
A vague, non-specific plural pronoun used in the original Niemöller quote to denote the National Socialists, and used in my post because I was parodying Niemöller?

We could go to Beleth and ask if he thought I was calling him a Nazi for making a joke about HarryBallz getting banned months ago, if it really ruffles your feathers so badly to realize that you don't understand such a simple concept as literary reference.

Parody, look it up.  This isn't scathing political commentary, it's a freaking forum on the internet.  The only Nazi in the room right now is the Quote Nazi.  Don't be the Quote Nazi.  It's obvious to anyone who read the original post that I wasn't insulting any mods.
Oh, yeah. They're ruffled alright. :laugh:

Beleth never said "ban."  He just said that LF had  24 hours to decide whether was going to apologize or not.  We'll see whether there was an implied "or else" at the end of that sentence.

Whatever the case may be, I guess this is gonna end up being my last post here.
I have not, do not, and will not ever apologize for any joke I make on this or any other website. If Beleth is really going to out himself as such a thin-skinned, narcissistic, ego-maniacal asshole that he bans people for Nazi jokes, then maybe my time actually would be better spent in other places. Keep in mind that I've posted pictures of my cock here on more than one occasion, and one of those pics was of a drawing of Mohammed kneeling and praying to it. If banning is happening based on offensive material, I and several others should have been gone long ago.
Beleth has his panties all in a twist because he was the butt of a joke that had to be explained to him. The fact is, I could care less about display names. The issue to me was always about self-important assholes playing mafia who take all this forum shit way too seriously. As is typical of those type of people, the best solution to people doing something you don't like is just to change the rules(or bitch until someone with a modicum of power changes the rules) so that they can't do that anymore.
Oh well. It's been a pleasure chatting with many of you guys, and I hope you don't start taking all this internet bullshit as seriously as some of these people do. Now if you'll excuse me, I've gotta hop off this train at the next stop, before we get to camp.

Just a thought.

I really wish you had read my entire last post.

It's not just that you called me a Nazi.  It's that you called me a Nazi after all I did to keep you from getting into trouble.

I appealed to your grown-up side, and you laughed.  So now I am faced with the dreary task of teaching you something that you should have learned in kindergarten: actions have consequences.

Sure, you can go all "You can't ban me, I'm leaving!" on us, if you wish, but the outcome is the same: you will no longer be a member in good standing here, and all the choices leading up to that consequence were yours.

About a half hour left.
I expect to pass through this world but once;
any good thing therefore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now;
let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.
