This is from memory, forgive any errors.

agent:  Alright, when I say hello Mr. Thompson, and stomp on your foot, turn your head and nod.
Homer:  got it.
Stamps foot
agent:  Hello Mr.  Thompson.
Homer turns to different agent.
Homer:  I think he's talking to you.

Homer: (comes out of other side of matter transporter) Hmmm!
Professor Frink: I take it from that little impressed noise that you are
interested in purchasing that matter transporter, sir.
Homer: (not fond of the price) Ummmmmmm... two
bucks... it only transports matter... ummm... well, ah...
                 I'll give you thirty-five cents.
Professor Frink: Sold! But I must warn you, this device carries a
                 frighteningly high risk of catastrophic--
Homer: (annoyed) I said I'll take it!

Lisa: I want the smartest hanster you've got.
Pet store clerk: OK. This little fella writes mysteries under the name J.B. MacGregor.
Lisa: How can a hamster write mysteries?
Pet store clerk: Well, he gets the ending and works backwards.
Lisa looks skeptical.
Pet store clerk: Look kid, just take him before his mother eats him, alright?

Eh it still is. Just as homer is not his dad, just his dads namesake.

Yeah... I mean, in the description he gives he basically says thats exactly why he picked the name: He named it after a particular Springfield, but only because he knew there were a lot of Springfields and that particular Springfield had in the past given him the "Hey, I bet its the Springfield thats near me!" feeling that he wanted to go for.

Paris would have worked, too.
