Am I correct in thinking that you work in IT or computer science in some capacity? If you do and if you're looking for work up here I might be able to hook you up, I work for a software company.
You are correct sir. I would be in your debt forever for a hookup. Even if it doesn't pan out, I'd still appreciate it mightily. I'm looking through all the possible prospects and options out there in Mass. I'm on my term break, and after a pretty serious setback this week, two years in the works, I've gone into full blown panic mode about getting back to work and getting healthcare and relocating. Trying to eat the elephant one bite at a time while calmly collecting and putting all options on the table. Things are up in the air. I still have to consider the pacific northwest and some bits of the southwest, and New York state, and even my hometown, but Boston and Mass are on top of my very short list.

I've been looking at housing, and to quote David E.
Boston.  The rent is too damn high!
No freaking kidding! The further west I look in the state, the more the cost of housing begins to resemble those found on planet Earth.

Here you go: if anything on there is something that you can do just let me know. Send the resume to me and I will forward it through our HR department. That way I get eligible for a referral bonus and you get your resume to the top of the pile

My work is doing a bike race thing for the American Diabetes Association (Tour de Cure ::)). It's 50km/31mi. I'm considering it, although I'd probably be lucky to finish. :P I'm a bit hesitant, though, because it's June 10th. I don't think I could be ready that soon for something this long (shut up you people who are in immensely better shape than I am and regularly go on 100K rides).

What's the farthest you've ridden so far, Panda?  What is your weekly average?  31 miles is definitely possible in over a month's time if you set aside some dedicated training time.

On another note, I just bought a tri-bike for my wife and my workout room is starting to look a bit ridiculous...

Hi, my name is Anthony, and I have a biking problem...LOL

My weekly average is 35 miles. :P Biking is unpossible on the days I work (I have a fairly physical job, lifting and carrying, walking), and I usually get 5-10 miles in on my days off, depending on the weather. Days I work, I'll bike to and from the train station--4 miles/day.

I've signed up for a different race that doesn't require that I raise $200. And it's not until August, so I have an extra month to get ready. It has a 20, 30 or 63 mile option. I can definitely do the 20 mile (if barely), but I think I'll shoot for the 30 mile race. It's a fundraising race to help pay for parks, which isn't as great a cause as fighting diabetes, maybe, but I really don't imagine that I'd be able to raise $200. I don't know enough people who have money. :P

Invasion of the bike for hire scheme, Manhattan/Brooklyn edition, subheading; Citi Bike.

Oh good, now New Yorkers can enjoy the misery of nearly getting run over by some flip-flop wearing doofus riding his rented bike on the sidewalk during rush hour too.

Seriously, fuck bike sharing. Fuck making cycling more popular. I don't want a bunch of half-hearted doofuses who only care enough about bike riding to rent a bike and ride it when the weather's nice polluting the streets and further alienating the actual cyclists from acceptance by motorists and pedestrians alike.

I have this funny (probably mis)conception that in a place like Amsterdam, everyone and their grandma is on a bike every single day and it makes total sense. NYC needs less street level hazards, not more.

NYC would probably be a lot better off if they banned private cars.  Allow only buses & taxis, delivery trucks & cop/emergency vehicles to be on the surface streets.

The thing is that in my mind grapes Amsterdam is this biker's paradise, but the reality is that if I were living there and trying to commute to work by bike I'd probably want to murder everyone because those lazy socialist potheads are just loafing around on their heavy 3-speeds whereas I want to tear shit up while blasting gangtsa rap through my headphones.

I'd still rather deal with potheads on bikes than cars.

My baby got her nails done yesterday  ;D:

I threw the red bar tape on (the old blacks were pretty torn up) and I also put on a new Dura Ace chain and a new Ultegra rear cassette.  My drive train had thousands of miles on it and was starting to look pretty worn.  She feels like a new bike now. Heh heh.
