I really enjoyed this last episode. It was probably the best of season 2.
I hope in season 3 they get back to the fundementals of season 1. You can really tell they fired the writers.

I was excited when they ired the writers. I hated the inclusion of the Mexican gang, the CDC and the handcuffed neo nazi. I'm glad they've stuck more to simple character drama. Even though I know it drives people crazy.

It was a pretty drastic swing... but the last few episodes have been striking a much nice balance, imo.

Finally got to see Shane get his last night. Wow.
It's one thing to put "good" up against "evil" and letting the obligatory thing happen. It's another to make both sides have valid points of view, and force one of them to triumph over the other. That's the difference between simple and complex conflict. As much as Shane was driving me crazy, it was actually painful to see him go. I felt what Rick did--it didn't have to come to this. And yet, Rick's bad-assery still blows my mind.
