I don't get it. Star Trek has a strong nautical theme, and that's really the only way you can get the model to move in three dimensions without adding propellers or something (which would look ridiculous, I think) or actually putting it in space.
It's a cool model of the Enterprise, and it is also a cool submarine... but why is it both a cool model of the Enterprise and a cool submarine? The two don't really go together, do they?
Star Trek's nautical themes are more closely related to 18th and 19th century surface ships than to submarines.
While I appreciate that a RC submarine moves more like a starship than an RC airplane would, the fact remains... it's underwater
! the only way you can appreciate it would be to have a huge pool and an underwater camera!
