Sounds like a reason to try and find a used Wii.

So then this is all about Link beefing up his sword to become the master sword in order to fill Zelda's heart meter?

Though I do approve of the change from the typical dah-dah-dah-DAH!  For when you get the master sword:

Just want to go on record as saying that this game is flipping amazing!  I tripping on the fact that killing baddies as lowly as Deku-babas and Bokoblins is actually a bit of a challenge as it actually takes some skill to get your sword to go where you want and to get the timing right (the baddies read your sword position and anticipate your next strike so have to be quick and precise).  The story is actually something I'm guessing about since Ganon doesn't exist and hasn't kidnapped Zelda, and IGN was absolutely right that the cinematics are amazing.  The music is great too; definitely glad they finally went for an orchestrated soundtrack.

All-in-all, I'm having a great time so far and while I'm not sure that I'd go so far as to say it will be better IMO than Ocarina, I'm certainly not ruling it out.

I bit the bullet and bought a Wii. I keep really busy so I'll be working my way through it slowly.

FYI if you don't own a Wii but want to play this game, Target has a great deal. Free copy of Skyward Sword included with the $150 Wii + Mario Wii + nunchuk bundle. Note that this Wii doesn't play GameCube games.
