The WTN is Dr Doofenschmirtz in Phineas and Ferb.  OK - I confess - I just Googled it.

Hmm .. sneaky early release .. and you managed to get Thomas Crapper into the show!

I was about to correct you that Crapper didn't invent the first flush -- I think even the Romans had something like that -- but you mentioned the siphon so I'll accept that. Hang on, though .. it looks like that wasn't his invention either, though he did invent the ball-cock valve.

It's unfortunately a myth that "crap" was named after him (yes, I know you didn't say it was), so it's a case of Nominative Determinism.

CRAP is also the acronym for Contrived Ridiculous Acronym Phenomenon, which makes it a contrived ridiculous acronym.

(OK, enough crap from me for now.)

I think that there is one big difference between the experience of a consultation with a Real Doctor vs. a Homeopath or other woo peddler aside from the time that they spend.

The "alternative practioners" often project a much stronger sense of certainty than the medical doctors (the good ones at least) because they are not bound by scientific thinking and complexity.  Their cures all seem to work on a level of simplicity that doesn't exist in nature.

For some people, this kind of black-and-white thinking gives them a lot of comfort and helps them buy into the "cure".

CAM practitioners can spend more time with their suckers because they don't have to waste time doing research, reading MRIs and X-rays, consulting a specialist, etc.

I HAD to play another poker tournament till one in the morning and I think I'll have to listen again cause it's all a bit hazy. Seems like a mixture of Disney channel, full metal jacket and giant black holes.

Don't forget Tycho Brahe and his ragtag band of curiosities! Screw the political correctness... He had a clairvoyant dwarf named Jepp, dammit, and that dwarf was - I'm sure - proud to call himself Brahe's dwarf! Who wouldn't be?
