Just out of curiousity why does ethanol not get absorbed through the skin when methanol gets absorbed through the skin?  Also I wouldn't say its impossible to get drunk because there are case studies of it actually happening but with open wounds.

Methanol is smaller (more volatile)  and more polar than ethanol.
