I'd like to talk about this week's episode, but I cannot.  Damn injunctions.

I'm still recovering from the trauma of hearing the word 'tits'.

very irresponsible podcasting, they should have posted a warning right up front. not everyone downloads from iTunes where there's an 'explicit' warning!

who should I send my therapy bill to?

what was the lady with the accent driving at with her questions?

I mean, it sounds like she was hoping to set up some trap to argue you'd be hypocrites if you had a problem with people censoring mockery of...whatever her sacred cow is.

I'm not 100% sure, but I spoke with her after we stopped recording, one on one, she mentioned she was cringing while we were talking about Islam because she was muslim. She was a pleasant, reasonable woman, but I think she may have missed the part where we were making fun of Christianity earlier in the episode, and we certainly make fun of dumb white people as much, if not more, than people of other cultures and races.

yeah, ime outside of the skeptical community, calls for free speech are often tied to racism or sexism. Especially when one is exercising one own's free right to speech and telling the other party that their views are stupid--it goes something like "It's my right to say that, don't try to silence me!" "I was just pointing out how stupid your views are." "First amendment, whaaaaaaaa!"

I don't know about the off cast chat you two had, but that woman was just looking for a fight.  She heard what she wanted to hear from you 4 evil white males and ran with it.

She definitely seemed to be pushing the "you guys are rascist for criticising Muslims for their perfectly proportionate reaction to drawings of Mohammed " line.

Yeah, I got the impression that she was not a regular listener to the podcast. Also that she was nervous.

I thanked her for her comment/question, and sincerely so. It's good for privileged white guys to be reminded occasionally that the targets of their criticism/jokes are real people.

Your lack of a knee jerk 'I HAVE A RIGHT TO MAKE FUN OF BROWN PEOPLE' is refreshing. As a privileged white chick, I agree that it's great (and also awful) to be reminded once in a while that flesh colored Band-Aids don't come in enough colors.
