Those with the degree, Doctor of Philosophy, i.e. PhD could have written their thesis in any field (not just Philosophy)
IIRC hers is in biochemistry, in particular proteins involved in TB.

so, what does the title mean, exactly? I mean...could Stephen Hawking get a doctorate in sacred theology (an STD) with a thesis about black holes? what is it meant to imply?

I'd never have put 'biochem' and 'liberal arts' in the same sentence

You can learn both liberal arts and biochem at a university. You can earn degrees in liberal arts and biochem. #examplesoftwounassociatedwordsinonesentence

yes, I was aware of that. I just never really thought of 'the art of medicine' as 'liberal art' rather than 'hard science'.

I was demonstrating a sentence in which liberal arts and biochem were in the same sentence. and I don't know how they determine college degrees.

I was a professional engineer for 20 years and these days I use creative arts to promote science and thinking and philospohy. >:D

Yeah, I'll probably end up with a degree of some sort in the liberal arts, and I have a total hard-on for science. In fact, I would love to be able to creatively promote science.

Should all of the podcast episodes on iTunes? My download list only goes far back as Mudslides, when I know that there are more.

Get them from the CS site.

But iTunes is so easy. :(

HOWEVER, for Caustic Soda Podcast, I'm willing to manually download each episode from its page on the website.
