I never said that and nobody in this thread ever said that.  lol  the fact is, people DO donate to the vatican to keep their golden walls polished because they believe in what that crippled old man tells them.  Thats why their walls are gold in the first place.

whether or not people feel compelled to do that is their own choice.

tithing and charity are not the same, though. one is a tax to the church, the other is an act of compassion.

their walls aren't golden from charity but from obligation.

If everyone took to the notion that they dont want to donate to a cause or group simply because the people who organize it are better off than you, not much would get done.  The whole excuse sounds feeble to me and it appears like an attempt to nitpick any reason not to contribute.  but hey, if you want to convince yourself of that no one can stop ya

if it was 'simply' that, flaunting/mockery would never have been mentioned.
try doing this without a feeble straw man.

VCR?  VCP?  who gives a shit

you don't care about the misrepresentations in what you're saying? maybe I shouldn't bother listening to what you say, then.

Anyway, if you want to donate to the SGU, you should. If you don't, don't. The end.

somewhat true but it's all irrelevant due to you misinterpreting what I originally said.

if it was 'simply' that, faunting/mockery would never have been mentioned.

We seem to have different definitions of the straw man logical fallicy.  I suggested a hypothetical situation based on relevant comments you made in this topic.  You could probably benefit from clicking here.

Based on your previous misinterpretations of my comments and arguments, i presume you won't be able to correctly interpret any relevant information on a website i link to you. (thats called a hasty generalization)

you don't care about the misrepresentations in what you're saying? maybe I shouldn't bother listening to what you say, then.

Nope, don't care.

Can we please just stop the bickering already? Jeez. No wonder no one wants to donate to the SGU. :P

Not all at once. They only put out one show a week, you know.

Dude, if people wanna give SGU or Steves Web Hosting a bit of cash 'cos they enjoy the show, then what is it to you? I give a little each year because these people make a product I enjoy every week, and it feels nice to pay them back. There is no need to tell us we shouldn't be donating, because for me this isn't about logic or argument it is just about appreciation for something we enjoy and care about. Feel free to start a thread somewhere else about good charities if you like, do something positive.
Get used to it honey. From now on, we'll be spelling everything with letters.

Considering Steves Web Hosting and the SGU had an acrimonious split some months back (Steve is currently banned from these forums, last i heard) and they are no longer hosted there, at the very least those people could do with a few words of info ;)
