Topic: Ask a Question "Live" on the SGU

We are instituting a new segment. E-mail us a question (info@theskepticsguide.org) and indicate that you want to ask the question "live" on the show. If we pick your question we will skype you while we are recording the show (usually between 8:30 and 9:00 pm Eastern Wednesday nights), and you will get to read your own question and actually discuss the answer with us.

There are some requirements that we must insist upon:
1 - you must speak English (accents encouraged)
2 - you must have a computer (if you are reading this and you don't have a computer, let me know how)
3 - you must have Skype installed and you have tested it and know how it works.
4 - you must have headphones (not speakers) to listen to the conversation
5 - you must have a good quality microphone, preferably a headset mic
6 - you must not be a raving lunatic (this is actually optional)
7 - you must be willing to sit by your computer anxiously awaiting our Skype call between the times we give you

Seriously - if the sound quality is unusable, we won't use it.

So start sending us in your questions. Just add at the top of the body of the e-mail "Question to be asked Live on SGU". If we pick your question we will e-mail you back and make arrangements.

Awesome! Except that I don't have an accent and don't have anything good to ask (seriously, your show is jam-packed with interesting stuff but all I can think about now is asking Jay about farts and I'm pretty sure that would just get cut).

Echoing stup_id's question, has nobody jumped at this?   I would have thought you'd be swamped with eager volunteers!

Or have you gotten responses and things just didn't work out for reasons which might be worth sharing.   Something beyond the seven prerequisites?   (I actually think you could do this from an iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch if it had Skype on it.  Same for Android devices, assuming they have Skype too.)

I would actually love to do this. Sadly, I work from 8:30 - 9 EST Wednesdays (that's 5:30 - 6). Also, I really have nothing good to ask which is at all serious.

Maybe  me?   I submitted a question last night.  Game on!   I'm guessing it is too late for tonight's recording session (although I'm keeping an eye on my e-mail and Skype - just in case...)
