Topic: New Spider-Man Movie

Found these pics the other day.  Honestly, at this point I'm not sure what to think.  My first reaction to the new suit is not good, but the more I get used to it, the less proble I have with it.  I think it's kinda neat how they added in the fake muscle shading to make it more reminiscent of the comics, but it also has a creepy fishnet kind of feel to it which makes it seem see-through.  I guess I'll withhold judgment until I see it lit the way the director envisions and in action, but for now the two things, stylistically, that I like the least are the gloves (specifically the blue weaved into them), and the lack of the red belt on the front (though I'm now noticing it appears in part on the back).  What do you guys think?

I fear that this pic shows they are trying to gound the movies more in reality by making his webbing come from where it comes from on a spider...

meh, I don't see why they are rebooting this one now.  I don't like costume, but assume there will be a lot of CG put on top of it. My dislike is more of a general dislike of guys in tights.  I would think a heavy denim or leather would offer more protection then spandex.

Spidey 3 bombed so hard, I can only assume that has something to do with it.  They're probably also trying to update the tone to that of the recent, popular superhero films; don't forget, it came out before Batman Begins and Iron Man changed the whole scene. 

As for the tights, I think Spider-Man's one of the few superheros that can justify it.  The guy does so much gymnastics that anything like denim or leather would seriously constrict his movement.  I definitely don't think in his case, that it has much to do with protection.

Btw, new Spidey will have web shooters rather than having that be a superpower.

... not to mention Topher Grace's horrible attempt at playing Venom.  How you take the biggest badass in Marvel comics and turn him into a whiney-  I need to stop now...  I could really go on...

Funny, a few months ago I went through the same thing.  I hadn't seen it since it was in the movies and kept coming across people talking about it online.  I finally went out and found the DVD on the cheap and watched it...  I think it was worse the second time around.  I just can't fathom how then went from the gold of Spidey 2 to that hot mess.
