Timestamp Project
« on: March 11, 2011, 02:32:12 PM »
Guys,  We are very close to finishing the SGU app for the iPhone.  I need some help if anyone is willing to donate some time.  I need the podcast timestamp of when Steve is finished reading the science or fiction questions. Right when he picks the first person to go. The second timestamp is right when he starts revealing the answers.  Try to give a one second buffer before.

If you want to help please select the range of shows you want to work with.  You can post the info here like this:
ep. 1 -- 00:00:00 -- 00:00:00
ep. 2 -- 00:00:00 -- 00:00:00

Thanks  ;D

Hey Jay,

I am happy to have a crack at 20 or so episodes...do you have any preference on which ones I do or should I just start at the oldest and work my way forward.

Awesome podcast BTW, I drive just under 100 miles to work each morning and then the same back each night, you guys break sh*t up for me.

Out of curiosity...is there any chance there might be an Android app in the future?  I don't know what kind of effort it takes to port from iPhone to Android as far as apps go.

The episodes you do are first come first serve.  I'm looking into the cost of doing this for the Android.  Reminds me of the browser wars of the late 90's.  Do we really have to build apps 2-3 times???

Guys..thanks you SO MUCH for doing this.  I'm just a small man with big plans.

My pleasure Jay, nice to be able to contribute something.  Is everything ok with the podcast archive on the website though?  I'm running Linux right now so iTunes is out for me, and the website is just not loading right for me.  Some episodes aren't found either (219 at least).  Please, help me help you :).

OK, I tried to do this as well as I could.  Note that 153 and 169 were both live shows, and aside from making exact timing a little more messy, it also meant that Steve threw to the audience first for their opinions, and then went to the panel - I've put both times in.

150 1:07:17 - 1:09:56
151 1:03:44 - 1:06:50
152 1:03:16 - 1:06:17
153 1:00:16 [Audience], 1:01:21 [Panel] - 1:05:00
154 1:01:51 - 1:07:25
155 58:31 - 1:05:30
156 1:00:49 - 1:05:04
157 1:07:10 - 1:10:31
158 1:06:26 - 1:10:02
159 58:47 - 1:04:09
160 1:01:23 - 1:05:38
161 1:07:26 - 1:09:57
162 1:01:23 - 1:07:26
163 1:09:53 - 1:13:44
164 1:02:12 - 1:07:50
165 1:05:37 - 1:09:36
166 1:03:19 - 1:08:10
167 1:05:56 - 1:10:47
168 1:03:15 - 1:06:59
169 25:39 [Audience], 26:37 [Panel] - 32:57

Here is a tabulation of all completed, reserved, and uncompleted episodes. All have been re-formatted as per Jay's example. Jay, I have this in a spreadsheet so if you want a different format just let me know.

EL, I picked out the 208 times and put them in this table.

Thanks Chew!  I plan on just continuing to modify my post to add more episodes to keep them in one place.  If you just want to cut and paste into this list (I've been using Jay's format too), that might keep things simpler than having different people copying your list and adding their own times in new posts.

I would prefer it if everybody would start a new post with each batch they complete. If will be easier for me to collect and collate. I will re-post the full table once a day or so so others will know which slots are still available. One person should collect the data and post it so we all don't try to re-invent the wheel. I volunteer myself.

I'll also re-post it when someone reserves episodes.

Thanks for your work, Chew.  I don't know if I'll have time right away to do more, but I'll try.
