Pretty good. 4/5.

Redford doesn't really dance around the parallels between the suspension of habeas corpus during the Civil War and the constant exploitation of fear and propaganda to keep Americans in line while opportunistic government ministers trample on civil liberties.. but I digress.

At least he didn't point out that Edwin Stanton was a Republican.

Funny, disturbingly and realistically violent, uncomfortable to say the least. But not as funny as "Kick Ass."

It's as good as the first one -- which, if you haven't seen, is a kung fu movie.  There you go, you now know everything you need to know about the film, it's plot, it's characters, etc.  Guy who kicks ass, kicks lots of ass.  The end.  Action is pretty good, everything else is irrelevant.

It was well acted, and the visuals were stunning, but overly artistic movies never satisfy me like I'm told they should.  Same reason I didn't really latch on to Requiem for a Dream.  I can't fault the movie on any of it's individual components though.

I liked this movie.  Not scary in the typical sense.  Basically...

... a student wants to see something romantic and inspiring in the Armin Meiwes and Bernd Jürgen Brandes situation.  Then when she actually watches a video of it, the horror of the reality of the situation is unavoidable.

It's worth seeing if you like real terror.  You know, films like Schindler's List or City of God.  Movies meant to rip at your soul.

EDIT -

Added name of movie in case you can't see the picture.  Also, while I'm here, note that I am not saying that this movie is of the same caliber as something like City of God (far from it).  I was merely saying that it's terror was existential in nature.

It was pretty good but I already knew the basic story. It was well acted and if it is accurate did not realize how much Valerie Plame was doing at the CIA.

Admirable attempt at making a serious Indian film about the all-pervasive corruption that bogs down the country, but sadly it has major issues with the acting, the characters' motivations, pacing and the script in general. Most of these issues stem from the filmmakers not being able to break away from Bollywood traditions. Maybe next time. (And Maybe I shouldn't have watched this after the vaguely similarly themed and brilliant Tropa de Elite 2)
