Tree of Life 7/10
Very slow, but I don't mind that. It's definitely not for everyone. It is, however, stunning. Really well acted, to the point that you forget its acting and it feels like a roaming camera. It's an interesting theme, beautifully discussed, but ultimately a little unsatisfying.
I went 180 from there and watched
Attack the Block 7/10
Got some good ratings here before and I'll add to that. A very funny, alien invasion (spoof-ish) horror set on a London council block. Really nicely shot, excellent story telling. Could have been funnier, and taken a few more risks. But it was totally solid. I hope to see more from Joe Cornish

StakeLand
6/10
I expected this to be funny like ZombieLand, but it wasn't. Not a terrible thing, however, since it was scary/compelling in its own right. A fairly well done apocalypse movie with "vampires" that are really more like fast zombies with fangs. The ending felt a little forced, however, and some stuff was kinds dropped and left unexplained, so I'm giving it a 6.

Blade Runner (Final Cut)
9/10
Phenomenal movie. If you haven't seen it, how are you a movie fan? The Final Cut fixes some issues with the previous versions, like a dialogue inconsistency and like the piss poor voice-over used in earlier versions.

Bladerunner: Boring as shit out of ten
Looks like crap, the story moves forward jerkily and the "am I a real boy?" question is pretty damn weak and derivative of PKD's writings.
I've TRIED to like this film, but it's so full of suck that I just can't.
Doesn't matter which cut I see either.
Maybe if Ridley Scott had waited 15 years to make it, then it MIGHT have been good, as his story telling has evolved and obviously the technology for FX has improved.
As it is, it's just one huge let down.

Tried it twice, and fell asleep both times. Once in the theater when it came out.
