Nothing compares to George Burns rasping "Fixing a Hole"

Coraline
7.5 /10

Loved many aspects of this, especially some of the color harmonies.
The storytelling was spotty at times, but otherwise this was very good.

It scared the crud out of my poor kids (7&5).

I think I rated it pretty highly earlier in the thread... but I couldn't agree more about Predators. Wish I would have seen it in theaters, easily one of my favorite action movies.

Yeah.

...although Predator and Predator 2 are also on my list. Awesome idea, awesome bad guy, great execution in all 3 of these. (Haven't seen AvP)

I've only seen the 2nd one more than once, but I consider it my favorite.  I don't remember being all too impressed with the latest one, but I don't think I could tell you why without watching it again.  Haven't seen AvP either, but by all accounts I'm not missing anything.

I loved the AvP movies more than the originals :)
but, yea, a lot of people don't think at all highly of them.

And I be one of them.
The original is the only one for me.

First time I saw it on TV I spent the next few weeks flipping myself over all the furniture in the house.

"The Grey." 6/10. On the one hand, some good action scenes. On the other, too much pointless pedantic philosophizing. The story is not helped by the fact that

How to Train Your Dragon  10/10

Such a great movie.  The characters are great, well animated and very relate-able.  The story is very simplistic, but very well told.  I watch this about every month.
I love this movie so much. <3<3<3 The dragon is basically a large cat. That you can ride. And it flies. IT WAS SO FREAKING ADORABLE.

And it flies.

Except when it doesnt ;)

Yes, very good movie. I pay a lot of attention to theme and "feel" of movies and I thought it did really well with the nordic feel, and the mystery and fantasy surrounding the dragons. Also interesting the choice they made of what happens to the kid near the end - not something you usually expect the studio bigwigs to have the balls to allow for a kids movie.

Also a great movie. Why do all the good ones make me cry? EMOTIONS MAKE ME WEAK.

Toothless is very endearing. My kids and I reckon part of toothless is modeled after a dog, and part cat, and a small part non specific avian (eagle maybe?) The way he looks at things is avian. Also he regurgitates food for his love ones.
