Looking good

Marvel's The Avengers - Clip 1

As a guy who owns about 40 issues of the 1970's run of Daredevil retitled: "Daredevil and The Black Widow", I feel like in a perfect world, ol' hornhead would come crashing through the ceiling at some point during her fight......because this would be a preview for the 3rd or 4th of the really excellent and massively popular "Daredevil" movie series....

Sigh....

That could do with a reboot.  The only good things from the first try were Evanescence music and Duncan as the Kingpin.

FOX still owns the rights to Daredevil.  They lose the rights if they don't make a new one soon.
Which is why we know he won't appear in the Avengers.  Different studios own the rights.

We can probably also expect another Daredevil crapfest from FOX within the next few years.  Unless they just don't enough abot the property to keep the rights.
Nobody these days holds the written word in such high esteem as police states do.  What statistic allows one to identify the Nations where Literature enjoys true consideration better than the sums appropriated for controlling and suppressing it.

In other news, Joss Whedon has apparently thought quite hard on the ultimate question: Who would win in a fight between Buffy and the Black Widow.

Quote
In a fight between Buffy and Black Widow, who do you think would win?

Buffy would go easy at first, but as soon as Natasha popped her with a Widow Sting, she'd start bringing some slayer brawn to the fray. Natasha's fast, but a couple of good connects and she's wobbling, possibly something broken -- she whips out her glock and now Buffy's dodging -- right where Natasha wants her. Natasha shoots the cable holding the steel barrels and they tumble onto Buffy, nearly burying her -- Buffy just arcs out of the way, grabbing the splintered cable and swinging directly onto Natasha, a bullet grazing her cheek as her feet land hard on the Russian's shoulders, sending her back flat -- crack! -- on the floor, Buffy wrenching the gun away and tossing it, fist ready for the final strike. Natasha, struggling to stay conscious, says the fight's over. Buffy agrees, but Natasha explains: She poisoned Buffy hours ago. That waitress that brought her salad …? Natasha smiles. The poison is dormant -- 'til it's activated by adrenaline. Buffy's eyes narrow. "Too bad I didn't use any." Wham! Natasha's out for the count, and Buffy's heading -- slowly -- to Willow for a mystical cleanse.

That'd be my first guess.

I wouldn't be surprised if he made that thing up on the spot. Especially since the outcome was obvious, not even the Hulk could take Buffy on.
There's, another example. See, here I'm now sitting by myself, uh, er, talking to myself. That's, that's chaos.

It's a protagonist versus a supporting character. Of course Buffy wins. Kirk vs. Picard is where the real scholarship lies.

Lightning?  Did I mention I'm in a walking Faraday cage?

I laughed at the headbutt and resultant dent though.

I have two words for you: Alien Resurrection

Even Dylan released some godawful records.

I'm pretty sure he released all of them.

If Whedon makes the Hulk part of his funny though irritatingly non-stop quippery, I will punch someone.

Reports from my buddy Corey, a film critic for Detroit's free weekly, the Metro Times are that the movie is a 100% home run, including a final post credits twist that will have hardcore Avengers comic fans (like him) shitting themselves.  The press screening was very well recieved....
