3) Force people to discuss things only publicly on the boards (unless of course they have a power that allows them to discuss things elsewhere.)
4) Have all deadlines be 3 days, with a Saturday + Sunday counting as 1 day (unless of course somebody has a power that allows them to manipulate the deadline.)
I'm not sure 3. would work. The whole point of the game is plotting behind everyones backs. Doing it in the open will change that game to something else entirely.
It would kind of be Mafia at that point.
Hm.... That's a good idea, actually.
My original idea for the Fate/Stay Night one I ran over at ILS was a mafia. 4 or 5 two people teams each fighting each other through day and night cycles. I just couldn't get it to work and was going to drop it, but Anach suggested I run it as a rumble instead.
It's actually the powers and bidding round that make mafia so awesome. This game probably suffered from neglect by players due to their absence.
Says you. I was in the middle of a very fine plot when I was so rudely butchered. spat was amused, at least. I think I was asking two players to attack someone, while pledging to attack for the same amount, but I defended heavily instead. Nothing exciting happened that round, so I basically kamikaze'd the next round. And died.
The best part of the game was you organising this big attack on all these people then Andrew going behind your back and telling everyone (even the people you weren't attacking) you were out to get them.
