The Demon Haunted Blog
« on: Jul 26, 2011, 12:20:16 PM »
Just thought I'd put another drop in the bucket of blogs my starting one up: The Demon Haunted Blog! It's going to basically be a layman's perspective on skeptical issues, and hopefully it'll ask some interesting questions and spark some conversation. Just posted my first few entries, so give'm a read/comment if you'd like.  ;D

I checked it out. Thanks Dean. There doesn't seem to be a way to comment on it, I just wanted to say that I have to agree with you for the most part on Cutco. The knives are excellent. I have a friend who bought a set in 1963 that she was still using as of about five years ago. That's the good part. The bad part is, as you noted, the way they are sold. A friend of my son's was selling them and I bought one [one knife, that is, not a set] from him because he was such a nice kid and he was my son's friend after all. Then my son started doing it. I encouraged him because I didn't realize how impossible it would be for him to make any money at it and he needed a job, but it was indeed impossible. Of course, all his relatives bought because we love him, but once he'd run thru all of us there was nowhere to go, because the knives are so expensive that most people are not interested in the high quality. I was actually relieved when he decided to stop. Then last year I got a call from an acquaintance who was selling them. I felt bad for her because she is not a kid but a grown woman about my age. She must be really desperate to be doing this.

Yeah, I may end up hosting it on a different site that's better for commenting, but I do like the layout & platform of the tumblr stuff. I'll have a look around.

Just started posting again, and moved the blog to a better host. I've been getting some good feedback on this post, so I thought I might give the thread a bump and see what y'all think.

A thread where I may engage in shameless self-promotion? I like it.  :D ;D

http://angramainyusblog.blogspot.com/

I've written a few posts debunking some philosophical arguments for theism (like William Lane Craig's KCA and 'Moral Argument', and a few others), as well as a moral case against Christianity (which for the most part does not require any philosophy; just a little bit in a couple of sections).

Due to a lack of time, I'm not planning to blog again for the foreseeable future, but if someone is interested in any of those issues, I invite them to take a look at my blog - hopefully, they'll find an argument they like. :)

A note of caution, though: I've tried to be thorough, even addressing theistic (or Christian) actual and potential objections in detail, and as a result the posts are really long, so that may not be everyone's cup of tea.
