So we're just finishing up, but the best line of the night was

"I shoot her in the pink thing?"

but then it turned out that,

"Gramps taught me how to lick the pink thing"

was better.

Johnny Slick, how do you feel about between-scenes role play? In a hack-writer trope-mining move transcended to real life, I have a lot of great ideas in the shower. Today's clensing revealed a glorious missed Mechanics opportunity for Val. He will seek to rectify this immediately upon cessation of hostilities - but since it is essentially a one-player action I wondered about taking care of it here, before the weekend.

I think it's something that I'm open to, but I'd like to get the, um, bird in the air before we start to modify its wings. That made absolutely zero sense as a metaphor but I am sticking with it.

I got my bird in the air.  Just for you mssr. Slick!
This country is planted thick with laws, from coast to coast, Man's laws, not God's! And if you cut them down, and you're just the man to do it, do you really think you could stand upright in the winds that would blow then? Yes, I'd give the Devil benefit of law, for my own safety's sake!

Welp, I was *going* to post eps 2 and 3 this week but apparently my recording software saves everything under the name "capture.trec", which means that when I recorded ep 3 it deleted ep 2. Oh well. The only reason I held off cutting up the audio this week is that the actual gameplay wasn't terribly long and then on top of that it was kind of ensconsed in the middle of a longer recording (we started late and then had to end a bit early). I think the summary I gave in the front "you were on a train and you beat up a couple guys" is probably summary enough. :D

I am listening to it and cutting it together in preparation for pushing it out today or tomorrow.

For the record, this week's cast of characters:

Me (as the GM)
Teether (Lazar)
Louie (Konstantijn)
Simon Jester (Killian MacShane)
brilligtove (Valentine May)
TheIrreverend (John The Guy Whose Full Name I Can't Remember And Can't Be Arsed) (unfortunately his Internetter died in the middle of the game)
Morvis (as Morvis's Character) (had to leave early, missing out on most of the fun :( )

I did get to Taser Lazar.

Val's major actions in the session were
  • Create a tazedagger powered by an eldritch power crystal scavenged from a German homing beacon. In the back of a moving car. The tazedagger is called Blue Lightning, by the way.
  • We know Blue Lightning works because Val tried to zap Morvis, who redirected the thrust into Lazar. This seems fair, as Lazar did accuse Morvis of being a Nazi, which precipitated Val's attack.
  • Panic enough to throw cooking oil on a bunch of plant-based zombies. On the plus size, being on fire helped us take them out.

The first action alone was enough to make the session a success from my point of view. Just wait until you see Val's next invention (if he makes his rolls!). Morbid Ingenuity is a wonderful aspect to have. It's not as broad as "Timing Is Everything" but I plan to work it like a rented mule.

Maj John Smythe is Rev's character if I'm not mistaken.

And Morvis is Rodderick.  He's a magician/con artist.

In fairness, it smelled delicious!

Yeah, I saw that after I posted and was copying the character infos into the Roll20 character sheets. I'd have amended the post except that I have the trouble of Couldn't Be Arsed.

The best part starts around 1:13 into the video where we meet Morvis in a bar where ideally he would just be joining our party.
