Couple of hours into book 3.  Going great so far.  I love the was King describes monsters...

Just finished book 3 last night.  I'm alternating with other books, so I'm gonna have to wait a bit to resolve the cliffhanger and go on to book 4.  :P

Is anyone excited about King releasing an 8th book? I feel like I won't really care about what happens since the events are supposed to take place before book 5 (I believe).

The books to me were always more about the characters than the ending, so yes I will buy it the moment it hits Audible.

but really, after his accident stephen king's writing really changed.    I wouldnt say worse, but the dark tower took a hit as he was halfway through the series when it happened.

Agreed.

Except for maybe Martin and Tolkien, who I consider on a whole different playing field..."The Dark Tower" series really is right up there with some of the great fantasy series.....for the first 4 books....

Funny. I think I did it pretty recently out of habit without any clue as to what it was from. I had totally forgotten.

After I read those books I said "thankee sai" constantly, now it just comes out randomly.

I'm about half-way through book 5 now, and I'm not seeing the massive dropoff in quality that has been alluded to.

The change in narrators has been disappointing (though also not as bad as Audible reveiws would have me believe), but I'm still really enjoying it.
