I know, right? And the female narrator, I forget her name, adds soooo much character to the characters - Nynaeve and Siuan especially. I don't think I'd get the same impression of them if I'd just read the paper books. It's basically the difference between reading a Shakespearean play and seeing one acted out for you, imo.

Dreamsongs has gone and made me want to buy GRRM's entire back catalog.
You people need to listen to the version read by various narrators.

It was actually Egwene for me - I just couldn't get what she was about until I started listening (I think I got on the audiobook train around when book 9 or 10 came out in print, but I've been reading them as they come out since the very beginning).

I've taken to getting the digital downloads from the local library. Right now, I'm a quarter through A Clash of Kings. The one problem is that with the HBO series out GRRM books take a long wait for the check out.

My wife is just getting ready to start on the first of the Wheel of Time yarns. She's still using disks.

It's funny - I hear Michael Kramer as Perrin and Kate Reading as Egwene, even when they are reading other books.

I'm really looking foward to the last book, but I'm also kind of sad - I've been reading these for 20 years, over half my life, and some of the magic will be gone when I know how it ends...

My wife is just getting ready to start on the first of the Wheel of Time yarns. She's still using disks.

I listened to the prequel book on disks - there was a licensing issue in the past where Audible didn't have the license for New Spring (prequel) and Path of Daggers (book when they had all of the others up to book 10.  I got to book 7, and then checked the disks for New Spring out at the library, then by the time I finished it Audible had sorted the licensing out and had book 8.

Finished Pandora's Star and jumped straight into Judas Unchained.

An update for my fans...

For new credit day (Sunday), I got Dark Tower III and the next Dresen Files book from Jim Butcher (I think I'm on book 11).

His back cat was on my eventually, but boy oh boy is he good.
Especially when collaborating with other writers.

Hunter's Run (SciFi) is an excellent example. Not very long either.

I've been spouting the greatness of the audiobooks for an age.
I like both print and audio as I pickup different things each time.

They do change narrators on a Feast For Crows, he's not great, but not terrible.
Back to Roy Dotrice for the last one.
