SGU Photography Competition Discussion Thread

DK:
Welcome to the SGU Forum Photography Competition Discussion Thread!
This is where you can find out about the photography competition and propose ideas, share thoughts and ask questions.

The format for the competition will be:

1) A thread will be started on a Friday and will stay open to the following Sunday, giving people two weekends to hopefully either take a photo or search through their catalogue to find something they're happy with.
2) Each week will have a theme, something broad enough that it will leave a lot to personal interpretation.
3) After the deadline has been reached, I'll add a poll listing the names of those who have entered a photo and then everyone can vote on which photo they like the best. The person with the most votes, wins.
4) Voting will stay open to the Friday, when a new thread will start. This means that there will hopefully be a new competition thread every two weeks.

Couple of Rules:
1) Be nice. This is supposed to be for fun. I'm sure people may be looking for some constructive criticism (I know I will be) but make it constructive and not spiteful.
2) Post your own photos. Trying to pass off someone elses work as your own defeats the purpose of the competition.
3) You can only enter one photo, but you can change it before the deadline. If you do enter a new photo, can you put the older one behind spoiler tags? That way people won't get confused about which photo they're supposed to be voting for. I thought about getting people to delete them, but that might get confusing if other people start talking about the photo you've already posted.
4) This all may change as we go on. I'm new to this, so bear with me and if people want to tweak this as we go, that's fine.

Personal note:
The deadlines may be a bit flexible, depending on RL. But I intend to try to keep them, or give fair warning if I can't.

T.A.P.O.R.:
Are we limited to one Photo per thread?

DK:
I reckon post as many photos as you like, but that you have to choose one as your entry. That's just me, I'm happy to set the rules according to what people want and think is fair. If more people think that you can enter as many photos as you like, that'll become the rule.

So, as many photos as you like. One entry or multiple entries? Thoughts?

I like the idea of just posting one... otherwise it may just get crazy with all the entries.  Also, what about a rule that you should post a spoiler under your image to describe what/where it is? a spoiler caption, if you will.  what'ya think?
