It's so cool that there's a photo comp here. I run the photo contest at the JREF Forums, so it'll be really nice to be able to enter the occasional one of my own. :)

I suppose the only thing I can add is that I would like the competitions to be a bit faster than they currently. are, but I know everybody has a different time schedule than me so yeah.
Hey looks, I took a picture...

Theme that might be fun but would require some extra lead time: Pareidolia

Are you sure you're not just confusing your theme with something familiar? (Obvious joke, I know. But I am weak that way.  ;) )

Pareidolia may be fun, but might be a bit too much work for most of the folk here (I by that, I mean myself).

If there is enough interest, then I can add it to the list or maybe run it as a bonus competition for a few weeks rather than just the one. That way it might give people the chance to think of something and take a photo. Just keep bumping the thread to remind everyone about it.

Also, FF spell checker wanted to change pareidolia to paedophilia. Go figure.

Technology, weather, pareidolia, food, close-ups, night.

Sorry if these have been mentioned before didn't read the entire thread.

I've got some photos that'll fit the theme of pareidolia, so I'm all for that competition. Not that I'm biased, or anything.

Oh, and some suggestions for future themes: self-portrait, rain, abandoned, fantasy, kittens in blenders.

There should be an update to the rules for photo editting. The competition is about photography not how well you can manipulate the image. I can see sizing and cropping as necissary. Maybe even changing to BW or Sepia.

Most photos you see in the newspapers and in magazines such as National Geographic who pride themselves on excellent photography, have been edited both for color balance, contrast and sharpness. Where do you draw the line? Most professionals I know regard the finalizing processing as part of the craft.

If a more "purist" form of photography is desired, I think the rules would have to be quite rigid. What constitutes tolerable manipulation and what does not?
